Town & Country provides our membership with many opportunities to enjoy golf from the Spring Classic to Fall Festival, there are events and leagues to suit all players and ability levels. The Junior Golf Program at Town & Country has grown into one of the best in the Twin Cities, offering a variety of clinics and leagues in both competitive and noncompetitive formats. The Golf Operation is under the direction of PGA Golf Professional, Tom Skoglund. He and his staff strive to deliver a first-class golfing experience to every member and guest. His team offers individual and group instructional programs, oversees T&C’s caddie program, and manages one of the top Golf Shops in Minnesota.
Meet the Pros
Tom Skoglund
Tom Skoglund is entering his fifth year at T&C as the Director of Golf. He has been in the Golf Business for over 30 years and a PGA Member since 1995. He most recently was the Director of Golf for the past 14 seasons at White Bear Yacht Club. He also was the Head Golf Professional at Doral Golf Resort & Spa in Miami, as well as the Director of Golf at Grand Traverse Resort & Spa in Traverse City, Michigan.Tom Graduated from the College of St. Thomas in 1987. He and his wife, Melanie will be celebrating their 26th wedding anniversary this year and have 2 children. Matt attends The University of St. Thomas and Rachel attends Gustavus Adolphus.
Sara Evens
Sara Evens has worked at Town & Country Club for sixteen years and is currently the Head Teaching Professional and Director of Women's Leagues and Youth Programs. In both the spring and fall, Sara is the Head Women’s Golf Coach at the University of St. Thomas, where she has taken her team to compete in six National Championships, earned MIAC Coach of the Year in 2006 and 2014 and Midwest Regional Coach of the Year in 2006 and 2007.Sara started her golf career at the University of Minnesota where she earned a full scholarship, was named Big Ten Freshman of the Year, and earned All-Big Ten honors all four years. Sara’s efforts on the Gophers golf team won her four individual titles and was named MVP three out of four years.After graduation, she competed on the Futures Tour (professional mini-tour) for four years. With that experience, she was hired at T&C, and has earned her PGA membership. Sara currently resides in Ramsey with her family and continues to give back to the game that she starting playing at the age of 10.
